Elmira Corning Regional Airport is a public airport owned by Chemung County, New York. It is situated seven miles northwest of Elmira and eight miles east of Corning. Its former name is Elmira Regional Airport. The airport is serving the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania since 1945, and It includes commercial flights, glider activities, and general aviation.

Earlier the airport had three paved runways, where each of them was the approximately 4000-foot length. After several renovations, all of them were gradually extended.

Currently, the airport is serving only two airlines: Allegiant Air and Delta Connection. SkyWest Airlines operate the last one on behalf of Delta Air Lines. With a low-cost carrier, Allegiant Air operates the only scheduled airliners from the airport, and those are Airbus A319 and Airbus A320.

Mohawk/USAir/Allegheny used to fly to Elmira until 2001 when its affiliate took over;

Also, United Airlines has started offering regional flights to Chicago-O’hare from 2014, but the service was eventually cut in 2016. In 2018 it served a new route to Newark, which also switched later to serve Washington-Dulles, which ended its service on January 6, 2020. At the moment, Elmira is not served by United Airlines.

Due to the increasing annual traffic and business, the airport required expansion. In 2016 the airport received a $40 million worth grant from the state of New York. The finances were directed for significant renovations. The renovations were aimed to increase airport passenger space, add two other jet bridges, and 300 parking spaces. On November 2, 2018, renovations were announced as complete.

Today, Elmira Corning Regional Airport provides five daily flights to Detroit and the only direct flights to Florida in the Southern Tier.
